Travel Assistance
We would love women from every ward and branch across Queensland to join us for the Stake Women's Retreat.
To help make attendance possible, the stake has allocated a travel budget to assist with the cost of travelling to and from the retreat as required.
Questions
-
The travel budget can be used to reimburse reasonable travel expenses, including:
Flights
Petrol for private vehicles
Car hire
Minibus or bus hire
Other shared travel arrangements
We encourage women to travel together where possible, making the journey part of the retreat experience while helping to keep costs to a minimum.

As accommodation costs are not covered by the Stake travel budget, we encourage you to consider affordable options when planning your trip.
If you have friends or family on the Sunshine Coast, you may wish to reach out and see if they would be happy to host you for the weekend. It can be a wonderful opportunity to reconnect while making your trip more affordable.
Another great option is to make a weekend of it by travelling with friends from your ward or branch and sharing the cost of an Airbnb, holiday unit, or other accommodation. Not only can this reduce expenses, but it also provides extra time to relax, connect, and enjoy the beautiful Sunshine Coast together.
If you're unsure about accommodation options or finding a place to stay is preventing you from attending, please reach out to your local Relief Society Presidency or the Stake Women's Retreat Committee. We would be happy to help explore possible options with you.
We hope you'll find an arrangement that works for you and look forward to welcoming you to the retreat.Item description

To simplify the reimbursement process, all travel and accommodation claims will be coordinated through your ward or branch.
Each ward or branch should nominate a member of the Relief Society Presidency (or another approved representative) to gather receipts and submit one combined claim on behalf of everyone travelling from their unit.
Once the reimbursement has been processed, funds will be distributed through your ward or branch to the individuals who incurred the expenses.
Your local Relief Society Presidency will provide further information about the process closer to the retreat.
-
We understand that paying for travel in advance isn't possible for everyone.
If the upfront cost of attending the retreat would prevent you from coming, please speak with a member of your Relief Society Presidency as early as possible. We would love to work with you to find a solution so that finances are not a barrier to your participation.
-
No. You do not need prior approval to book your travel.
We encourage each ward or branch to organise the travel arrangements that work best for their group, whether that includes flights, car hire, private vehicles, or a minibus.
Reasonable travel costs will be reimbursed through the Stake travel budget. Please note that accommodation costs are the responsibility of each participant and are not eligible for reimbursement.
To assist with processing, all travel claims should be submitted as one combined reimbursement by a member of your ward or branch Relief Society Presidency (or another nominated representative).
If the upfront cost of travel would prevent you from attending, please contact a member of your Relief Society Presidency as soon as possible. We are committed to ensuring finances are not a barrier to attending the retreat and will work with you to find a solution.

If you have any questions about travel, accommodation, or the reimbursement process, please don't hesitate to contact your Relief Society Presidency or the Stake Women's Retreat Committee.
We can't wait to welcome you in September!
